SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State Rams hosted the 2021 South Central regional tournament and took care of business at home this weekend.

The No. 3 seed in the four-team regional bracket won three straight games to advance to the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C.

ASU beat No. 2 seed West Texas A&M, 10-2, in the opener. The Rams followed that with a 5-2 victory over the top seed in the region, Colorado Mesa. Then ASU left no doubt in the final, drubbing WTAMU, 18-4, to move on in the playoffs.

It is the fourth appearance in the D-II World Series for Angelo State, now 42-7 on the year.
