LIVINGSTON – The University of West Alabama Athletics Department adds North American University to the 2021 football schedule. The non-conference competition extends the schedule to an 11-game season with six games at home.
The Tigers will host NAU on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. inside Tiger Stadium. The game will be streamed live on the UWA website and broadcast on SLY 104.9.
“We are very excited to get a sixth home game added to the fall schedule,” said head coach Brett Gilliland. “Thursday night games in Tiger Stadium always have a great atmosphere. We look forward to seeing our fans back in the stadium this fall.”
The midweek contest will be the first time that the two teams meet on the field. NAU is an independent program looking to join the NAIA in Fall 2022. The Stallions held a 2-5 record for the 2020-21 season, defeating CMP Prep College (LA) and Community Christian College.
UWA closed the abbreviated two-game 2021 spring season undefeated with victories over Limestone University and Savannah State University. The Tiger football season was cut short due to concerns for the Covid-19 pandemic.
